Welcome to Lesson 7, where I will explain the need for a few basic pieces of equipment to complete your grow space.
The main objectives of this lesson are to learn (a) why you and your plants will benefit from a few basic pieces of equipment and (b) where you can find the equipment for purchase.
The basic but necessary pieces of equipment include a thermometer and an automatic timer. The benefit of a thermometer is that it keeps you updated on the environment in your grow space, allowing you to adjust as necessary to provide the best possible growing environment. Even better is a thermo hygrometer. This tool will be able to tell you both temperature and humidity in your grow space for only a few more dollars than a thermometer alone. Without this simple piece of equipment there is a lot of guesswork related to these variables that could hinder the growth of your plants. For the small amount of money it would cost to purchase, it is worth every penny.
A second piece of equipment that will be beneficial to your plants and will save you time and hassle, is an automatic timer for your grow light. Without this simple but vital piece of equipment you will have to manually turn on and off your lights daily at exactly the same time. The hours of light your plant gets daily connects directly to its stage of growth and so if you accidentally miss a day or two it could alter the vegetation and blooming stages of your plants growth. A small investment in this equipment will save you lots of time and headache in the long run. Recommendations for timers, thermometers and thermo hygrometers can be seen by clicking the link here.
So to recap, a thermo hygrometer and an automatic timer are basic essentials that are affordable and worth every penny of your investment, both for your plants health and for your growing convenience. A thermo hygrometer updates you on the environment of your grow space, while a lighting timer ensures your plant gets the light it needs for its stage of growth. For recommendations on what brands to get and where to purchase this equipment, click the link here.
This concludes lesson 7, and the course “How to build an indoor garden”. If you have not done so already, review the lessons from this course to ensure you have the proper equipment for your plant’s lighting, grow space, grow medium, odor and airborne contaminant control, air circulation and other basic essentials in order to get started. You can find recommendations for all pieces of equipment covered in this course by clicking the link here.
